"From War Front to Home Front: Helping Veterans Heal", a free training for clergy and lay leaders of all faiths to help returning Veterans and their families, will be held July 21st, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Ephrata, 172 Ivy Street SE, Ephrata, WA 98823. and learn about issues facing our military personnel returning from Iraq and
Afghanistan. Find out how you can help and about appropriate referrals.

This training is part of The Veterans Support
Network, a project of the Washington Association of Churches and
co-sponsored by the Pacific Northwest
Conference United Church of Christ's Christian Life, Service and Action
Committee, as well as by the Washington State Dept. of Veterans Affairs, and
First Presbyterian Church of Ephrata.
Speaking at this event will be
Chaplain Tim Loney, who is ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA),
and is a 14-year Veteran of the Navy and Navy Reserve, including two tours
in Iraq with the Marine Corps. Tim was a keynote speaker on Combat Stress at
the 2008 Annual Meeting of the Washington State Mental Health Counselors
Assocation, and has extensive experience helping Veterans and their families
locate resources and support in the Pacific Northwest. Other presenters
include Marian Fletcher Beaumier, LICSW, director of ACT Ministries, as well
as David Baird, LICSW, of the Spokane Veterans Outreach Center.
